2-Methoxyacetic acid
2-Methoxyacetic acid is a derivative of acetic acid in which a hydrogen on the methyl group is replaced by a methoxy group. As the outdated name methyl glycolic acid suggests, methoxyacetic acid, the simplest ether carboxylic acid, can also be thought of as the methyl ether of glycolic acid .
